Before and after setting-up.
Time-lapse: Setting-up a temporary ‘gallery space’ to exhibit the work.
METHOD & TECHNIQUES
Pattern piece templates were cut to make silicon moulds for casting. A combination of beeswax (very soft), micro-crystal wax (hard wax) and damar crystals (hardener) were melted together with minuscule amounts of pigment. Vilene was also used as the inner ‘stiffening’. The process requires melting the wax at the right temperature and then imprinting the image through rigorous rubbing. Also using water to break the bonds of the paper to rub and scrub off.
